Fundraiser for a new CT scanner for the Kharkiv Military Hospital
Про проєкт
Military Medical Clinical Center of the Northern Region in Kharkiv is one of the key medical institutions near the frontline. The hospital is under the threat of the russian attack every day. While this is happening, soldiers in critical conditions are being treated there. Doctors work 24/7, saving the lives of Ukrainian defenders.
One of the first stages of diagnostics – computed tomography (СT). The new CT scanner is what the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Northern Region in Kharkiv needs right now. The price of it is approximately $724K.

Computed tomography helps doctors see. Operating without it is like operating blindly. Metaphorically speaking, the CT scanner is doctors' eyes.
In 100% of cases, severely and moderately injured patients must be examined on a computed tomography scanner. Lightly injured patients – in 50-60%.
The scanner helps not only to see the consequences of the injury, but also to identify other potential health threats. For example, small splinters, internal bleeding. Even unconscious soldiers on a ventilator are brought to the CT scan for urgent tests right before surgery.
Compared to the pre-war workload, the hospital now accepts 300-350% more patients. Most of them are examined on a CT scanner prior to surgery. Ideally, under such conditions, two CT scanners should be operating. However, there is only one in the hospital, and it is about to break down very soon.
In a single month, the hospital conducts the annual number of examinations for which the CT scanner is designed. This means that over 1.5 years, the hospital’s CT scanner worked out the load that under normal conditions it would have had in 15 years.
Early in 2025 hospital announced a fundraiser for a new CT scanner, but the doctors need significant support to purchase it as soon as possible. Our Humanitarian Fund is willing to back up the hospital’s fundraiser, so we joined it. We aim to raise the needed amount, so the hospital can finally have a new CT scan.
This CT scan is an urgent need of the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Northern Region in Kharkiv. Lives of hundreds of wounded depend on it, without exaggeration.
Unfortunately, on May 16, the CT scan stopped working completely. It was the only CT scan in the hospital. This puts the lives of hundreds of wounded at risk.
Donate now.
Wounded cannot wait.
