On August 18, 2022 Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation announced the purchase of a satellite.

The Foundation has signed the deal with the ICEYE company about the purchase of the satellite and the access to the data from the whole ICEYE satellite constellation.
This gives the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine full access to all the systems full capabilities for one of ICEYE’s satellites already in orbit over the region.

Since the purchase, ICEYE has been providing access to its constellation of SAR satellites, allowing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to receive radar satellite imagery on critical locations with a high revisit frequency. The satellite will provide the Government of Ukraine with ICEYE’s Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite imaging capabilities.

This deal was closed with the fund raised by the People’s Bayraktar project funds June 22-24, 2022 by the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation in cooperation with blogger Ihor Lachenkov. The Baykar company decided to give three Bayraktar TB-2 UAVs for free. This allowed us to use the saved 600 million UAH (roughly 15 million USD) to purchase the satellite.

The Satellite paid off itself in just two days. It helped unmask and destroy 60 russian tanks, armored vehicles, and other types of equipment in the Kharkiv and Donetsk directions. The total cost of equipment lost by russians exceeds the funds spent for the satellite contract. It is our best national investment!

“Due to understandable reasons we can’t disclose much information, but can you imagine, in two days of active service the satellite helped have 60 russian military vehicles, which were masked in the woodland belt and other obstacles. Coordinates of the hidden vehicles very efficiently passed for the correction of fire, specifically near Khreshchenivka and Ukrainka in Kherson oblast and Novoselivka in Donetsk oblast. In these two days alone the enemy lost so much equipment which in total costs more than the whole satellite project”, Minister of Defence Oleksiі Reznikov wrote on his Facebook page about the effectiveness of the satellite.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) reported that the camouflage of muscovite equipment, oil depots was virtually leveled by the capabilities of the People's satellite - neither weather nor time of day is the obstacle for its operation to detect and uncover even the most sophisticatedly hidden military installations.
The results are impressive. In six months of using images obtained through the People’s Satellite, Ukrainian Defense Forces have turned billions of dollars worth of Russian military equipment into scrap metal, not to mention the destroyed military personnel and military logistics facilities of russians..
The Defence Intelligence officers note the special role of the People's satellite in planning and conducting important and highly anticipated military operations of Ukraine and once again express their gratitude to all Ukrainians who helped with ICEYE.

People’s Satellite, for example, played a very important role in the attack on Sevastopol Shipyard on September 13, 2023, when the Russian “Minsk” landing ship and the submarine Rostov-on-Don were destroyed.
